New work and Thursday stuff

Here is #3 I worked on this past weekend. It is a vintage 1940's French postage stamp. On the back it has just a scrap of the envelope, something different. I actually have a few more letters that I might make some charms with. I just love using the beveled glass, it might look distorted, but if you were to see it up close and for real it really sparkles.

This picture is what has been filling our days lately! He has another game tonight at 7... They haven't been doing well, I hope they win tonight! My little guys needs to learn to plant that back foot when hitting! Anyway, it's fun, time consuming but fun. I think it's neat how our children can bring total strangers together, us 'Cubs' moms last game sat in the top corner of the bleachers and rooted for the whole team... Its nice when others root for your little one.

Lastly, Family.
What does family mean to you? Are we striving for the perfect one? Do we get frustrated when the folks in ours don't act the way we want? Since I missed my "Thoughtful Wed. " post, I'd like to think about that for today. What our families mean to us! I know mine can try my patience but I truly love 'em and want our home to be a sanctuary for all of us.

Cheers! Have a great day

Hurray for Whimsylove who helped me figure out this placing pictures in the blog thing!!! http://whimsy-girl.blogspot.com/

Tuesday Morning Lovelies

I hope everyone had a great weekend! We did. Finally went "up north" like a lot of other Wisconsinites do...Very beautiful.

Well, here are two lovelies of 4 I made this weekend. First one is 'Deary' I like her because she looks like she's trying to be so beautiful...like some of us and she just looks silly. Well, not silly but I thinks its best to just be yourself!

The second one is my 'Clean Home Fairy'.. Every where she goes she wants to clean house...On the back is what I say to her "Only dull people have clean houses" No offense to you who have perfect homes... wish mine was, have 4 'messies' who make it hard.

Well, have to go- hubby wanting me to get out and help him rip siding off! Cheers.

Sister Act

Here is a peek at a new collage I am working on. I think these girls are so cute. I really love how they are dressed alike, and their smiles! I just wonder what they are thinking..." oh why did mom dress us like this?" "okay, I stole your dolly just stand there and smile...and we'll deal with this later..."

What do you think? All I have are boys, so I don't know how sisters think. I would love some input on what these cute dollies might be thinking.

Have a great Thurs.

My new storm door

Okay, this is really dorky. Please forgive, but I just love my new storm door!!!! My fab, wonderful, awesome hubby and I are renovating our 107 year old farm house and I finally have a new storm door! I have been wanting one foreva, our sassy German shepherd always stuck her nose through the old fashion one that was on there so we could never open the door. Ha! take that Shelby... dohhh, I just spied some doggy slobber... but it is so nice to have the front door open and let some fresh air in!!!

I hope you can see it, it is white that will match the trim and has a lovely brass handle and kick plate on it. Please forgive my dorkiness, but this old house has been getting on my nerves and it is so nice to have something new! yes, there is new siding going on too!

Those feet you see on the roof are my wonderful hubby... Please don't fall off! agggh... lol.

Anyway, has anyone ever renovated? especially with family? It is neat with our family, it's just my hubby and I and the kids doing a little here and there and as each new thing happens we all have this sense of pride. I'm just ready for the outside to be done! Nothing like giving folks directions to your house and having to say "oh, yeah it's the oooolllddd farm house half sided ,half with foam board insulation hanging out..."

Well, Happy WEd.

Tooo big for britches

Okay,

Forgive, don't have a pretty picture to show...Okay of Elizabeth...yes she's pretty....and the thought behind this post...don't want to get in trouble

What do you think of an artist who claims to be the original of something? Say... a solder artist who claims to be the original 'collage solder artist' 'Don't except any imitations' ? Last time I looked, there was NO PATENT or COPYRIGHT on soldered art, just the images!!!! It just burns me up ! she, yes she, provides POOR customer service... sitting pretty with her feature in magazines etc.. to proclaim that! looks like she would want to help the little folks like us...Yes, she has no obligation, but there is a very beautiful business woman out there called Elizabeth of ElizabethHouse... who is willing to talk to folks and share with people she hasn't even met! to help them become shop owners and business women like her... Uggh. sorry for a rant.
Have a good Wed.... despite those kind of mean folks out there, let's try and be more like the latter... helping those around us!
P.S,
if you click on the title of the post, it will take you to Elizabeth's blog!

New Piece

Happy Monday to everyone!

Here is a new piece I was working on this weekend, I will probably attach two heavy duty jump rings and hang it from a chain and a crystal knob in my living room... It's not the straightest... My folk art cross I guess.

I need to find a way to secure these larger items so I can solder them on straight! Crooked is okay for me, but if someone would want a larger piece

I don't think it would be right... I don't know, just call me "Queen of crooked"!!lol...

Cheers!

Look what my son made me do!

Well, after much whining and begging, my oldest son cornered me into making this house for a social studies project. That was a week ago, he tells me last night " oh, by the way mom my house is do tomorrow!" Uhh, I can't work like that...

So, after spending 3 looonnngg hours at the ball field with #2 son playing, all 4 of us crawl home cold and tired, (My hubby was at work) this was at 9pm, #1 son and I proceed to make this little soldered house. I have never made one before, I like it actually. It is askew, quirky kind of like me!lol.

It took us 3 hours to make it. I had fun, but I'm alittle sad this morning... I got to spend some time with #1 son, and he is definitely not my sweet little boy anymore. He just turned 15 on Wed. and feels he could rule the world! I know I'm not the only one dealing with a teenage boy... Won't be the last.

Don't get me wrong, I love all three to death! but as my friend Debbie once said and I didn't have a clue when she said it.." The kids turn 14-15 years old and they loose their mind! It's like invasion of the body snatchers!" Well Debbie now I know exactly what you mean!LOL!!!

Anyway...with much prayer I know my three will come out relatively unscathed! Blessings to all of you, And especially to those of you who have successfully raised children!

Have a great Friday everyone!

Little inspiration for Wed.

"I think that the biggest thing that affects women is the fear of the unknown because we're such planners. When we're starting something and can't see how we're going to get there, that's when you need to dig in and let yourself be passionate and driven about your company. Don't look at it as 'in five years I'm going to be here...' look at (your progress) daily. -Lily Holt

Lady who launches...Shoe designer... Trail Blazer!
Well, I am at a pivot in my dream... Do I look at the edge and go for it or do I stay safe? Just a thought for this Thoughtful Wed. post.

Breast Cancer "Hope" Necklace

I had a 'major' event happen in our neighborhood today! THE MAIN phone cable for our little community was down...AGGGH! I have felt so lost for today! NOOO Internet! Well, crisis averted... I had time to make some more lovelies! I made some more tacks and this cute necklace. I have two sweet people in my life right now battling this terrible disease. CANCER . I hate it!

I will be getting in contact with my Relay for life Rep. this week. What a neat thing, this event gives us all an opportunity to help, give back! It's sad, but why does it take some major event to get some of our attentions?! I'm just so thankful for His new Mercies everyday! Like having my phone line back.

Vintage for Father's Day

Well, I have created my first card,I know we just got done with Mother's day...forgive. I used vintage dictionary text as well as vintage buttons and a copy of a vintage picture I have (couldn't bring myself to use the original yet, he's too cute...lol) I made it with my dad in mind...the colonel. Hope he likes it. I am going to keep trying to create some cards as I go, do you think it is more personal to get a hand made card or does it matter? I like home made cards myself, it makes me feel that person took special time out to think about me... I really don't like e-cards. I'm sorry, I just think they are sooo impersonal, like the person dosen't care. Sorry if that's mean. I want to renew the hand written letter as a tradition!

Rolly Ice cream

Hey,

look what my kidos made tonight! their own vanilla ice cream! They got to expend some pent up energy and I for once didn't have to entertain them for 20 min.! It was very yummy.

All you do is add the cream, sugar and vanilla in one end, then turn it over add your rock salt and ice and close that end...Have the kids roll it around for 20 min... there you have it! I'm going to try some different recipies and maybe sneek some fresh strawberries from my garden in there...(Better be using the lowfat cream!! if they even make that? ) ...I just heard my thighs expanding ...lol!

NEW Blog colors...

I've been at it again, I love the yellow, but tell me what you might like as a color scheme for BellaColle?! I love pink but it was like...uhmmm no..cant decide....Pick my colors!

Fat Bracelets!

Okay,

My time "creating" started out with my little domino, I must say it flopped! But I won't give up! That little sucker isn't gonna stop me..lol

I decided I needed to 'step away' from the soldering iron... so I dug out my beading supplies. I spent all day on them, there was no room in my craft area so of course, I spilled out to my kitchen table, it's still covered!

Aren't these the best? I like them anyway... I call them my "fat" bracelets. These are 'altered art' bracelets, you cram the silver link bracelet with all the lovelies you can find. My middle son who is 10 yrs old and ALL boy, can't seem to grasp the idea. "Don't you have enough on there mom?" "No!" I say lovingly...It needs more! lol! I think I will add some soldered charms to both of them.

Creative fix satisfied...Aaahhh.

Is Your life Creative?

I have just finished an awsome book/workbook by Alice Bass called 'The Creative life'. It has many exercises in it to help you understand that you are creative just because you are you... Here is a quote she has in it.

" There is a vitality, a life force, an energy , a quickening, that is translated through you into action, and because there is only one of you in all time, this expression is unique. And if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium and will be lost." -Martha Grahm

I would encourage folks to read it.

I am making some new things today and will share when they are done... I'm actually trying a soldered domino pendant, never done that! hope the flux doesn't ruin it.

Cheers!

New Growth

"Everything in the universe is a pitcher brimming with wisdom and beauty..." -Rumi

Everything has a season and a time... I went out to get the mail today and just had to stop and admire the new growth here. Yes I'm sure Spring has sprung for alot of folk, but here in my gardens, things are finally coming up. That made me think that I should look to this new season to try and grow, produce better fruit and embrace change. Just a thought for the day...
The little lone 'Johnny jump up" reminds me of me...I say blume where you are planted! Cheers!

Saturday night special

Okay,

It's not a sale... I just made these cute little charms into earrings and listed them in my etsy shop. I have only made one other pair, they were 'Packer' inspired earrings for my friend Debbie..I think they turned out pretty neat, I love the blue and white print. I found this paper, too bad there wasn't much of it, and made a few cute charms with it. I think that is special because there will only be a few folks out there with it..very original.

Something new for you!

Oh, my look what I just made...I think it turned out pretty cute! It's a thumbtack!!! I think I will make some more. Now we can have original thumbtacks for our boards. Just one more thing to remind me to do stuff. lol. Any how, what do you think? What would you charge for a group of 4? and where on earth should I list these on etsy? love to have some ideas.
