Giddy up little doggy....

Happy Saturday night! just had to add these two new original collages by me as well, this one of the cowgirl is one of my favorites! I have made her into a smaller charm that I'm going to list in my etsy store. On the back of the charm it says, "Waiting for her cowboy"

okay, I must admit I've been feeling kind of sorry for myself...Uhhh... the self pity party is over I promise. I was wonder why things sell here in Wi. stores and not on etsy...hmmm...And why not many folks respond to my blog....hmmm...Well, I had fun creating this collage and it helped me remember the girlfriends that have surrounded me and lifted me up no matter what. The girl friends that have stuck by you even when you were just you...no makeup, bad hair day and all! Thanks girlfriends!

I will probably be making a pendant with this collage as well, stay tuned the Vacation Fairy will be visiting soon!lol!

(side note: I know its growing pains... thank goodness I don't have my brick and mortar store yet, or I would really be having a cow. Blessings to all you out there who have those brick and mortar stores feeling the ups and downs of being self employed.... ) Oh, yes... may I have some cheese with my whine!lol!!!!

New stuff!

Hi! just thought I'd check in... Here are some new pieces available in my etsy store. I have already shared this collage with you, but now I've been able to make it into a charm.
Here is my other charm I've made from an original collage. I call it snips and snails.
Here is the picture of the collage, a tribute to all the "all American boys" out there, including my own.
Well, I think they turned out neat even if nobody else seems interested I'm having a blast making them. Soldering is an interesting thing, you never know how it's going to turn out.

Well, cheers! have a great weekend.

Go,Go Go Joseph!

I just witnessed an awesome play tonight! Has anyone ever seen this play? I have, long time ago. What made it special tonight is that my #1 son (whom I am very proud off!)was in it! This is the summer production of our high school in town (my son isn't a highschooler yet will be in the fall), and may I add a very fine production indeed!
Okay, so what character is my son? Why, he's one of Joseph's brothers, Dan to be precise! It was enjoyable to see all of the kids actually! The young man who played Joseph is actually going on to college in the fall and majoring in drama. All of the kids right down to the youth choir worked very hard.
Okay... my favorite part is this one! Seeing as I like Elvis and all!lol! This is such a fun production if you have a chance to see it, GO!
'Go go go Joseph, you know what they say....'
Cheers!

(the pictures aren't of the play sadly...:( they wouldn't let us take pictures!)

Let Love

Here is my newest collage! I don't know what happened?!!lol... I just sat down and started messing around in all my stuff, and started gluing and painting and then this idea "Let love take flight"... I honestly haven't been able to sit down in so long and just make something like this for the fun of it. I have forgotten how much fun it is!
I used some snippets of the stash I got Sunday....Then the thought that 'You gotta let the folks you love know you love them today! ' popped in and hence the clock stamp.
But look what I did! I'm such a dweeb, I didn't pay attention to what I was doing, and wound up making this on scrap! so now how am I gonna mat this? What on earth will I do with piece? I'd hate to cut one bit of it.
Here is one of my newest charms/pendants. I think she is quite lovely, the old vintage diva herself! As each charm I make I am learning new technique and I think they are getting better (the solder part I mean)
Here is the back of the charm, I used a piece of one of the postcards I got Sunday too. You know, I love these larger pendants. I actually wear a couple my self. I'm wondering why they don't seem to be catching on at Etsy? Oh well, to create these are fun... one day maybe they will be a hit.

Well, happy Tuesday to everyone.

A Flea for me!

Sunday Morning in Wisconsin

'Conventional opinion is the ruin of our souls...' -Rumi

I've finally been able to go to the one decent flea market in the area after what 7 years living here! Yes, here I am... surveying the field!lol! The Hallelujah choirs plays as we drove up!
There was an eclectic mix of item. Lots of kitchies and chotchkies, I was under strict orders not to come home with anything like that so alas we by passed alot of the tables. Unfortunately, the majority of the dealers weren't that...'dealers'. No one wanted to make me a deal 'cept this on crazy guy who sold me some very nice 'Metropolitan Art Museum' books cheap! Thanks crazy biker guy!
Well, here is some of what I found; Some old postcard, A very awesome class picture from 1929, a little boy in a sailor outfit with a baseball on the beach ( three of my favorite things), a vintage Cinderella book...
Wow! posted that picture twice... sorry, just wanted to make sure you saw everything ;) lol...
I got a 1925 licence plate (I've been collecting them for the boys) and some 1800's music sheets. All in all, it was a decent day. I think I might score better with the rummage and estate sales here...something to look forward to next weekend!
Hope everyone had a great weekend!
Cheers!

Lake Braddock Class of '87

Knobs..Knobs...knobs...

Okay, call me crazy! I'm excited, I just got these glorious knobs in the mail today. Oh, I've been wanting some since forever! These beauties came from an older Texas estate home...oh, to actually be able to see the stately home these came from! Glorious!
No, I'm not going to use how you might think. The majority of the knobs in my house now are vintage 107 year old white porcelain ones. Very pretty, wouldn't want to change them.
I want to re purpose these beauties to hold art work like my soldered cross I made a bit ago. I also have this idea to use these as garden art! Yes, I have seen them on the end of copper piping and twisted to look like the stamen of a flower! How cute!
So, here is my question to you... My hubby is working... I want to get these babies working...Yesterday! How would you attach them to the wall as holders? How would you attach them to the copper pipe? I have my ideas, but I'm curious as to what other folks might say, maybe someone else has a better way!
Hey, have a great Weekend!

New!new! new!

Wahoo! I made my first set of stain glass earrings! I think they turned out so nice. I love how the solder is so thin around the edges, you still get the silver effect but its not so troublesome trying to cover up the seams.
I think I will invest in some more stained glass, I think that the simple honey color will look nice for summer! Maybe find red or green for Christmas...Pink (my favorite color) who knows.
Here is a matching pendant, with a complimenting mini charm. I'm going to list these on Etsy and I have a few more for my shops here in Wisconsin.
Soooo, what do you think?
The house is done finally! Things are getting put back together and my creative juices are flowing!!!...yeeehaww!lol.

take care ;P

What? me?!!!

You Are 74% Creative
You are beyond creative. You are a true artist - even if it's not in the conventional sense of the word. You love creating for its own sake, and you find yourself quite inspired at times

Okay, had to throw my two sense in there! There are a lot of 'tests' out there in blog land... click on the title of this post and see where you rank, I surprised even myself! What happened to the 26%?!!lol!

Anyway hey, I'd love to know what you think! ;P... Can there be a test for creativity? Hmmm... Who is anyone to judge? Not me, I enjoy learning from so many folks! Creativity comes from ones soul, everyone is creative in my opinion it's not my place to critique and say 'this one has value and that one doesn't'... the key is finding those who your work speaks to! That is the beauty of art!

Cheers!

One more!

What is that you may ask? The ship is the very one I met my true love on! My Hubby of (gosh) 17 yrs.!?!! Why am I posting? Hmmm to squeeze one more post in before Sunday... Yup, it's Fathers day tomorrow. I am thankful that Keith Sr. is the man of my dreams and the Father to my children!
Well, does this need explaining? I don't know..., MY father sent me this one via e-mail for all of us (especially the boys) to see! One way or another! OOHHRAHHH!
This is another sent to us by my father... Folks only see one side... in the 'media machine' today there is one side...The above picture is what is true and good.. our military is still the best! Our nation is what is good and true.
Well, that is my tribute to my Dad. God bless America!
God bless our forefathers that sacrificed so much for us..God bless the fathers who are sacrificing so much today for our freedom!
Happy Fathers Day, Dad!

(Oh, to clarify... My Father is Retired LTCOl. 101st airborne ranger!)

Wow, I learned something new!

Hi, my name is Bert!

Extremely serious and a little eccentric, people find you loveable - even if you don't love them!

You are usually feeling: Logical - you rarely let your emotions rule you (Well, maybe sometimes)

You are famous for: Being smart, a total neat freak, and maybe just a little evil (Not me...just sassy)

How you live your life: With passion, even if your odd passions (like bottle caps and pigeons) are baffling to others

WoW! I've learned something new about my self.... lol!~Yes, it's cheesy! all these 'tests' out there, but hey they are fun! I have also learned I need to lighten up... So, this is the best I can do after a very long week of sanding and painting and siding and cleaning up after the HVAC guy...

I'm a redneck daffodil named Bert! LOL! (scroll down... to the bottom of the page...)

Oh, why not! take the quiz! find out who you are... Oscar, Big Bird? click on the title of this post to find out!

Take care and have a great weekend!

GOOO Cubs!

GOoo cubs! Hey this is a charm I just made to show team spirit for my #2 son's baseball team. This is actually my husband's idea! He came up with it at a recent game, what about making charms for all the teams (4)? Go Pirates! Go Brewers! Go Yankees! (Well, maybe not the Yankees!lol...I'm a Boston fan myself) oh, I'm kidding! Hurray for all the teams. What is neat is that next year #2 will be on the same team, he gets to have team buddies for the next 3 years till he gets to 8th grade, then the kids move up to the middle school team and play kids from other areas.

I think it turned out pretty neat! Hey, what a cool way to remember a special event! Think graduation, wedding... birth of a child. The beveled glass is pretty heavy so it's not good for a bracelet but necklace or key chain could be pretty cute. What do ya think?

Luuuvvee it

I'm doin' the happy dance! I finally was able to afford a shirt from Anthropologie. This is the shirt I got! I luuvve it, it hides my 'baby fat' tummy soo well. The shirt has a little tie in the back, very fresh and cool just right for summer! This is the next lovely that I have my eyes on! I think its such a cute dress. It's alittle too pricey for me now, but soon as it goes on sale I'm gonna scoop it up!
I really like this hoodie, its something different than what others are wearing! It says "Wear me on the beach!" So, I must obey! LOL!
Hey, check out the below pictured beach towel! Sunny and scrumptious and just right for wrapping up in after a nice cooling swim! Ahhh summer, could there be anything better?

Hope for the Cure!

Hi all you warriors out there! I wasn't gonna post till Monday... but I'm very excited! I have been inspired by my fellow Etsy artist Mybabysfunkyjunk and the cancer warriors who are battling the horrible disease in my own life...

I have been able to sell this lovely from my shop... ... every little bit helps!

Oh yes, BMW is on it! We are going to check this event out here in Appleton! http://www.bmwusa.com/bmwexperience/EventsandPrograms/UDSK/default.htm

My Hour

My Hour,
... It's time indeed I stole to bed.
How peacefully the house is sleeping!
Ah! why should I strange fortunes plan?
To guard the dear ones in my keeping-
That's task enough for any man (woman)

So through dim seas I'll ne'er go spoiling;
The red Tortuga's never roam;
Please God! I'll keep the pot a-boiling,
And make at least a happy home.

My children's path shall gleam with roses,
Their grace abound, their joy increase.
And so my Hour divinely closes
With tender thoughts of praise and peace.

House update and new stuff

Hurray, we got the front done!! Now only two more sides to go! I think my husband has done such an awesome job!

By the end of the day yesterday, all the front trim was painted. The house looks so much bigger and 'cleaner' with the siding and trim those colors. It should stand out in the snow now instead of fading into it! LOL~

Here is my new listing on Etsy, my gentleman soldered collage tile. I really like the warm yellow background.

It's just right to fill up a space that needs "alittle" something.

Well, Have a great Thursday! Here is a thoughtful something to think about,

"Ointment and perfume delight the heart, And the sweetness of a man's friend gives delight by hearty counsel." Proverbs 27:9
