Yay! Someone likes it and other random stuff

Hi guys! I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend, I did, lot's of good family time. First off, I'd like to thank everyone who voted in my little poll to pick my new business card design. This is the winner! I tweaked the background and darkened the font and thanks to your help, it turned out very nice.
I received a check for some items that sold in my friend Teresa's shop. Assemblage Studio is the name, and you will find lots of goodies there! http://www.theassemblagestudio.com/about.html I received this note in the envelope...translation, "Thanks Christine!! They are flying out the door!" Teresa.... This really made my heart feel good! I don't really get much of a response on the web and in blogland... 'cept for a few of you fabulous gals. I soo thank you for that! But here in the 'actual' world, folks seem to enjoy and actually want to pay me money for what I've been able to make. I'm thinking maybe I've gone about getting started in business backward, maybe I should have opened a brick and mortar store first AND THEN went to the web... leave it to me to start out with the difficult and make things harder than what they should be.
Two pieces of God's word have been continually in my heart this last week... James 4:6 'But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: "God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble."
I could get angry and resentful because I'm not 'on top of the world' with tons of orders, articles in magazines... I could get doubt full and quit because my stuff isn't flying out the cyber door of my shop... throwing my hands up and quiting isn't an option. The Good Lord reminded me that this week! People really do like the things I create, He has shown me. If I am faith full and thank full in the small victories..I know He will enable me to move on to bigger things!

This is a banner that has been sitting in my Etsy shop. Saturday, a lovely lady thought enough of it to buy it! She is just starting out on Etsy...http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5371070
She makes beautiful glass pendants, I hope you'll stop by and visit her new shop....
The second verse is this Mark 8:36 ' What will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?' I know there will be some of you who will say 'Okay, what ever...' but I just wanted to share that through frustration and disappointment if you stick close to Our Lord.. it really is a peace full place. I'd rather have these small affirmations of what I am doing is good from God's hand than be on my own and lose myself!
Have a great Monday!
Hugs.

Accents for children's rooms.

Hi Guys! I just wanted to share some accessories you might consider for your children's room... I just love these ladies blog! Kari and Kijsa are a pair of incredible sisters who have a fabulous and unique..fresh.. classy..style ...okay, I could go on for 'eva check them out! http://kariandkijsa.blogspot.com/
This is an old Chinese Checkers game board hanging in #1's room I found at a Antique mart...Why not try, Chutes and Ladders? Monopoly? Scrabble.. They are color full and the graphics are great. Unique, inexpensive art that a young one can appreciate with all the bold colors up to teenage years. Please forgive, but I couldn't see paying for 'bedding in a bag' of cartoon characters that my boys where going to grow tired of a year or two later. Personally, we can't afford to change room decor every time the 'wee ones' tastes change..LOL...

The first picture is a license plate collection I started for all three a while ago. There are some I found at antique marts, flea markets and our own vehicles! We even have one from 1925! Very original pieces of art in my opinion, each one has a story to tell. The above picture is a vintage one of a beagle... I think very reminiscent of the bedrooms of my grandfather's, of their favorite dog...
How cool is this, a cheap color full monogram!! Look for discarded marquee letters! This bright 'H' I picked up for only pennies... Spell out the little one's name or a favorite word. This one is hanging in #3's room... #2's room was just too messy to show the 'B' he picked for his favorite Movie character 'James Bond'
The painted trim in the boy's rooms when we moved in to our 107 yr.old farm house dictated actually what became their color scheme!. Bright red and blue with stark 'Glossy' walls... wooah! Three colors... you can build around. May I suggest picking one fave color and build around that, one bold piece , and add lighter accents..that way it isn't so overwhelming.
The Ralph Lauren quilt was just right for #3's bed. The little pillow I made is from scraps from Fab Hubby's work shirts... all three have one for their beds.
More license plates... the one on the far right and far left we found on our grainery that we had to take down, one from the 50's and one from the 30's...
My advice is think long term for nursery design... think fixtures that will grow with your baby and be timeless and wont hold the room at a certain age...
Tonight's post on Kari &Kijsa talks about the ceiling... just look up!
