Little Experiment

Hello! I hope everyone's Monday is going well... I thought I'd try a little experiment. I have read several place that there are some who make the soldered charms, don't use varnish! Okay...I'm thinking I can just see the flux seeping into the picture and making it totally melt.
Sooo, I made two..one with varnish and one with out... the one I put the varnish on is a bit faded and I really didn't feel like foolin' with it! This little lovely is the one without the varnish!!
She is just as clear...not faded and no spots!

So, I learned today that I CAN make some charms without having to use varnish to seal the picture to the glass button. There is nothing like spending sooo much time on a picture you think is going to turn out sooo beautiful and have it fade because of the varnish..
This lovely vintage lady is almost 1 and 1/2" inches in diameter. I think she would make a sweet Christmas tree ornament. What do ya think?

It's Coming quick!

Well...since Halloween is finally over...I can finally focus on my most favorite Holiday! Christmas. I've been visiting your beautiful blogs and see some of you already getting into the Holiday Spirit. With our family.... It's Jesus' Birthday... The real Spirit of Christmas... So it may seem odd that I'm showing ..Santa and Christmas ornaments...its the 'fluff' as Priscilla of http://sweetremembrance1.blogspot.com/ says.. it's fun..festive but I never want our family or those around me to lose sight of what this Holiday means...so, lets have some fun, here are some cuties for you!
I recently found these lovely vintage glass ornaments and these cute pipe cleaner Santa's!
I just love the colors of the ornaments... There are silver and red, the one pictured below is actually a pretty washed blue and silver. I might just save the blue one for our tree. Actually you guys, this just came to me while writing this! I will have to share the 'tag' decorations! We took and wrote down alot of the names for Jesus in red lettering on simple shipping tags and hang them on the tree using red raffia!

Well... I've been messing with Photoshop again! If you couldn't tell..LOL, These frames are so pretty, but it's not allowing me to line things up properly...oh well.. The Santas are soo cute too. These are all going into the store. So...if you like 'em please stop by! hehehe..Christmas will be here before you know it! It's coming quick... Hope your guys week was fab! Hugs!!

Eye Candy

Happy Friday everyone! I am working on a little project and was going through my collected issues of 'Mary Engelbreit's Home Companion'. I found these pages of eye candy!!lol! I have collected Home Companion since it started in 1997. Every issue was full of artists, 3 featured homes and delicious recipes...now, I don't know what has happened to 'M.E' Mary's losing her touch! The pages seem to be full of ads... some artists and NO recipes... so sad.

To me, these pictures are my kinda world! I just love the colors, the vintage finds and worn/loved feel of it all.
Believe it or not, these are four distinct designers! The above picture is from a beautiful home in Canada... The artist who lives there LOOOVESS Paris! Her home has an old world feel! Tres chic!
This picture above comes from a home in Texas... This artist is holding up her gauzy curtains with thread spools!! So unique. I love incorporating unexpected items like this...
These last two are from the same artist...just different issues. Anyone see this spread? If you are a fan of Carol Hicks Bolton (like me) you can spot her magic touch anywhere!!lol!
To some of you, this may not be your style...that's okay...one of the things that is so much fun about interior design is the sheer diversity of tastes out there! Candy for your eyes!! To me, I love dark chocolate and gummy bears...to some candy corns and lemon drops are best...What is your eye candy?
