Vintage inspired tags

Wonderful vintage inspired tags I just completed today... I really had a blast making them... tiny little collages special in it's own right... I think I hooked!

I created three sets. Two pink ones and one sepia one... lots and lots of glitter of course..

I want to put some in the store... what is a good set..3? 4?

I think they add a wonderful unique touch to gifts or letters...

See the wee bride and groom? These tags would be neat for up coming weddings! Well... hope your week is going well.. love to hear from ya!

Snow?

Did I get your attention with the title? Yes..that's right ladies and gentlemen..we are having snow this morning...It's Spring..right?lol...
So..what do you do when the weather outside is frightful? Make cake!! Cupcakes that is... both collages are 4"inchesx5"inches. First collage is dreamy pink on on a wonderful Robin's egg blue background.

This one is a Robin's egg blue one on a pink background. Can you see the stitching I added to the second cupcakes paper? I stitched a little bit of hot pink thread on the paper to give it some depth. I think the stitching adds wonderful interest, I will be stitching some more in pieces to come.

I've joined a swap again... Les 'emotions de la France Book Swap ... Why do I do this to my self?!! Because it's good for me I guess... I'm such a shy violet that I probably wouldn't try and do anything and then wind up beating myself up for it... So.. this should be interesting. My theme for my page is Dance..or Twirl.. haven't decided yet.

Well...#3's teacher is having a birthday..he's so sweet, he wanted to make her a card. I think it turned out very nice if I do say so myself! lol.

I added one of my soldered charms for good measure! I just love children's art work! It really helps you see things from a wonderful innocent perspective.

Somthin' for the Kitchen

Well, on this fine Friday Afternoon... Just wanted to share two amazing sites I have found... At our house we don't have cable or a 'dish' so the channels we watch are pretty limited.. We recently upgraded to a digital T.V and antenna! On Thursday nights here..on PBS..there are some wonderful cooking shows! ..Of course after CSI.. I have become addicted to JoanneWeir and America's Test Kitchen . On Joanne's show, she has a one on one cooking class with a lucky individual and they create some amazing mouth watering dishes. America's Test Kitchen takes recipes and breaks them down and figures out a better more tasty way to prepare it...they also show what products taste the best and work the best in the kitchen..last night it was fillet mignon and mixed drink shakers!

Soo..if you need some lovin' for your oven...a little 'spice' for your life!lol... Check out these two sites! Best of all..it's free!

Iron for you

I have some wonderful cast iron pieces that will be going in the Shoppe after the blog coupon sale is over... I have a set of 4 iron 'shabby' white drawer pulls. I love the rusty'ess' of them!

Can you see the lovely scroll work on them? Wouldn't these look neat in a bathroom?

Here is a wonderful 'spade' shaped finial.. put it in the garden this Summer..and it will be lovely and weathered to add a vintage touch for your indoors this fall.

Fleur-de-lis anyone? Can't you just see this adorning a lovely Victorian fence? Neat new items coming your way.. New..but you and I both know that these can be weathered and rusty in no time and inject that 'little' something your space needs....

Here is a new lovely! Aren't these two girls precious! I hand cut the glass to 1" square... add alittle glittery mica for the faintest sparkle.

Perfect for Mother's day coming up..

This is the reverse of the charm.. We all need to dream more don't we? Sometimes the here and now can be a bit dull.. BORING!! I want to dream more..and try and follow through with more!!

What are some of your dreams? I was noticing today while running errands.. #3 was skipping every where he went..Ahh..to be free at heart to skip.. Never mind my bad knees... To be light hearted to 'skip' in my heart places...Children..and my DH who is a child at heart really remind me to not take things so seriously...

New Larger collage

Here is a new larger collage I completed today!! I loove it! It's 6"inchesX7"inches.. The caption says "Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called sons of God"

I love the little boy... typical 'all boy' grin... reminds me of 'Dennis the Menace' or..mine!
This is something we really try and instill in the boys... Be peacemakers not trouble makers! Makes the world a better place that way.

Here it is matted.. I think I need to get a bigger mat for it, the opening is a little too small.. Eventually this will make it's way into the Shoppe and maybe even some charms!

Speaking of 'boys' my #2 started with baseball this evening...ahh..Spring is here..

Spring Sale!

Happy Saturday everyone! Hope folks are seeing some dryer weather! We are having more than our share of snow and rain and well... I'm quite done with all this!! I want warmer Spring temps with NOOOO rain!!lol

Something new

Something new today...it's all rainy and yucky outside...but that's okay..I was able to solder this lovely! She is 1"inch square beveled glass for that extra sparkle.

These pictures don't do it justice. You actually can see the cowgirl quite clearly in person. This is a copy of an original collage I've done. I had a 'Duh' moment yesterday and tried shrinking my work on Photoshop! They all came out clear and just the right size.

You know...it was hard to solder this morning..I'm out of my rhythm! It is so true, solder a little each day and you will stay in practise.

Here is the reverse side..wonderful vintage fabric from an old feed sack quilt.

Life is coming back!

Yes! Oh yes, life is coming back to all parts! It has been a long hard winter for so many people... here in the WI included. I seriously can't remember when it was 60f in sooo long! Well, it was 62f today!! Yay!!
It was glorious...the sun was shinning and not a hint of snow or rain in the air. I was actually awakened by birds outside my window!! Yes, gosh that sounds corny...but yes.. at the crack of dawn they were just 'a chirpin' away... I honestly forgot what that sounded like!! The one day a week I can sleep in and I feel like I was in a bad movie or something...AKKK! Please forgive but I just had to shoo my morning visitors away for a bit...
LOL.
After all the theatrics of the wee morning hours.. it was okay..strangely. I have been dealing with extreme pain for quite some time now. If it isn't horrific headaches its been debilitating joint pain, like the whole world is standing on you pain.. I am okay.. NO PAIN today!!! Seriously...
Thanks to my wonderful DH..I am on a new vitamin regime as well as an exercise regime.. Hmmm..could it be working? I don't know, but I will keep you posted!
With the glorious sunshine calling us.. I just had to play "hooky" from stuff..I packed #2 &#3 up and we went out..#1 was in a choral competition all day and come to find out he placed first!! These wonderful photos are of actual life coming back after this horrific Winter.
Our whole landscape looks like a war zone..and these wee 'Johnny Jump Ups' are signaling the coming of Spring.
It's just such a relief.. A breath of Life come back... thank you Lord!.....

These are of Tulips... peeking out.. I just get so excited! I see God's signs of rebirth like this and I know it's going to be okay...

New for the store...

Here are two collages I made I will be putting in the store. Both of these collages are 3x5 inch.

"Winkin, Blinkin and Nod" are what I call them.

This collage is trimmed with black checked ribbon...I hand colored the outfits and of course! German glass glitter adorns the top..

This is a very 'green' one lol... I love Spring and this one is all that!! The flowers are actually vintage wall paper pieces..

You know the saying "Bloom where you are planted" ? Well, I switched it... "Where are you planted"? Where are your roots? What is your foundation for life?
